Stephanie Zimny is entering her seventh season as the head softball coach at Indiana Tech heading into the 2023 season after being hired as the fifth coach in program history in the summer of 2015.

During her first six years at the helm she has complied a record of 90-154-1 (.367) and holds a 43-59 (.422) record in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play. She has coached 33 WHAC All-Academic Team selections, 41 NAIA Scholar-Athletes, ten All-Conference selections, six WHAC Player of the Week winners, three WHAC Pitcher of the Week selections, two WHAC All-Defensive Team honorees, four CoSIDA Academic All-District Team members, and two CoSIDA Academic All-America Team members.

In 2022, Tech finished the season with a .500 record at 24-24. The Warriors finished fourth in the WHAC with a record of 15-7. The Warriors fell to #5 Aquinas in the first game of the double elimination WHAC Tournament before defeating #8 Siena Heights to eliminate the Saints on day one. On day two, Tech lost to #3 UNOH and was eliminated. Emma Kelley became the second Tech softball player in history to be named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team. The Warriors also had six WHAC All-Academic Team selections, ten NAIA scholar athletes, three WHAC All-Conference selections, two WHAC Players of the Week, two WHAC Pitchers of the Week, and two CoSIDA All-District Team selections.

In 2021, the Warriors went 17-27 overall and 5-13 in WHAC play, finishing tenth in the conference. Tech had eight WHAC All-Academic Team selections and 12 NAIA scholar athletes. Payton Robinson earned WHAC All-Conference, WHAC All-Defensive, and CoSIDA All-District Team honors.

Tech went 5-7 during the 2020 season before the COVID-19 pandemic caused all collegiate sports to be cancelled. Their was still history to be made though, as senior Emily Martin was tabbed to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, becoming the first player in program history to earn a spot on the prestigious squad.

In 2019 the Warriors went 24-25 and 11-11 in conference play to finish seventh and cracked the 20-win mark for the first time since 2012 while opening up their new home at Warrior Park on March 21, 2019. Tech knocked off second-seeded Lawrence Tech in the first round of the WHAC Tournament to advance to the semifinals before falling to eventual tournament champion Siena Heights. The Warriors had four players named to the All-Conference Teams while junior Brianna Glass set an NAIA national record with 81 stolen bases.

In 2018 Tech went 16-33 and qualified for the WHAC Tournament for the first time since the 2012 season with a record of 11-9 in league play, finishing sixth. The Orange and Black won their first game of the conference tournament over third-seeded Siena Heights, the first win in the postseason since 2012, before falling to Aquinas and Lawrence Tech.

She guided the Warriors to a 4-38-1 record during her first year at the helm (2017) while the team went 1-19 in conference action.

Zimny came to Tech after spending one season as the pitching coach at Kent State, helping guide the Golden Flashes to the Mid-American Conference (MAC) regular season title and winning the MAC East Division. Under her tutelage, the Kent State pitching staff recorded a 2.78 earned run average (ERA) and mentored one All-Region honoree and one All-MAC selection while the team got off to its fourth-best start in school history under interim head coach Eric Oakley.

While at Kent State, she was responsible for all incoming and outgoing scouting reports, monitored the teams' social media accounts, and assisted with practice planning and camp coordination.

Prior to joining the Golden Flashes, the Highland, Indiana native spent the previous five seasons as head coach at her alma mater, Calumet College of St. Joseph (CCSJ), where she has also been the head volleyball coach since 2012.

After taking over as head coach midway through the 2011 season, Zimny guided CCSJ to its first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament appearance that same year. She led the Crimson Wave to the conference tournament in every season since and compiled a 116-111 record.

During her tenure at the helm for CCJS, Zimny coached eight All-CCAC selections, 10 CCAC All-Academic Team selections and three NAIA Scholar-Athletes. The 2014 team also earned NAIA Scholar-Team honors.

Zimny was a multi-sport athlete during her collegiate career at CCSJ, earning letters in softball and volleyball. In 2009, she was named CCSJ's Athlete of the Year in addition to being All-CCAC First Team and a NAIA Scholar-Athlete in softball.

She played at South Suburban College prior to attending CCSJ, earning National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Second-Team All-American honors in 2006, the first player in SSCC history to garner those accolades, and was also a First-Team All-Conference selection after finishing second in the nation in strikeouts.

Zimny graduated from CCSJ in 2010 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She currently resides in Fort Wayne.
