Kelly Robichaud

Following three seasons as an assistant, Robichaud stepped in as the interim head coach of the softball program for the 2022-23 academic year after Hannah Quintana resigned following the 2022 season.

She led the Bombers to a 25-10-1 regular season record and 10-4 mark within the Liberty League, which qualified them as the No. 3 seed in the Liberty League Tournament where they finished as runner-up. Ithaca finished the season with a 27-12-1 overall record, which also saw six members of the squad earn All-Liberty League.

Following the Liberty League runner-up finish, it was announced in May 2023 that Robichaud was named named the sixth head coach in program history.

Ithaca softball standout Kelly Robichaud '16 returned as the Ithaca College softball program's newest assistant coach, announced by head coach Hannah Quintana '07 and Athletics Director Susan Bassett '79 on September 6, 2020.

During her time as a player at Ithaca, Robichaud played in 144 games, making 142 starts as both a catcher and a utility player.

Robichaud was named the Empire 8 Player of the Year following a stellar senior season in 2016. She finished with a .390 batting average after notching 41 hits, which included nine doubles, two triples and a conference-leading 12 homeruns.

She also picked up First-Team All-Empire 8 and National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Northeast Region First Team accolades.

As a junior Robichaud led IC with a .417 batting average and a team-high 45 hits and 12 doubles on the season. She also led the Bombers with 75 total bases and earned a First-Team All-Empire 8 selection.

Robichaud, who moved to the Boston area following her graduation from Ithaca, spent the 2019 softball season as an assistant coach at Emmanuel College, where she worked with hitters and catchers.

Payton Cutting

A 2018 graduate of Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Clinical Health Studies as she went on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2020, Payton Cutting returned to the South Hill prior to the 2023 season as the Assistant Coach of the Ithaca softball program. She served as a volunteer assistant coach from 2019-2021 and when rejoining the staff she added the duties of pitching coach.

During the 2023 season, Cutting led the pitching staff to a 1.80 ERA where both Riley Piromalli and Anna Cornell were named All-Liberty League. The Bombers' pitching staff combined for three one-hit games on the season and Piromalli tossed the program's 19th no-hitter in program history.

As a student-athlete at Ithaca was a four-year member of the softball program where she pitched and was a team captain during her junior and senior seasons. She was a two-time Empire 8 Sportswomen of the Year recipient and was the president of SAAC during the 2017-18 academic year. She helped the Bombers get back to the World Series for the first time since 2010 during the 2018 season where they finished third in the NCAA Division III Softball Championships. Cutting finished her career with a 124-49 record where she appeared in three Regionals and two Super Regionals.
