Jamie Burke took over the Keuka College Softball team prior to the 2006 season. Within a year, Burke had the Green and Gold to a championship level as they won the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship in 2007 and repeated for the next six years.

Burke came to Keuka College following a stint at her alma mater, coaching Prattsburgh High School to five straight Steuben County League Division II titles and a pair of section V Class D Championships.

The 2003 Sportswriters and Coaches Organization for Girl’s Sports (NYSSCOGS) Class D Softball Coach of the Year, Burke also served as head girl’s basketball coach at Prattsburgh. She led the Vikings to the Section 5 Class D title in 2003.

Burke entered the coaching ranks following college as an assistant coach for both the women’s basketball and softball teams at SUNY Geneseo from 1998-1999.

Burke received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Canisius College in 1998. She was a member of the Canisius College women’s basketball team from 1995-98 and was selected to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic Team from 1996-98.

A standout athlete at Prattsburgh, she held the national high school record for batting average in softball from 1993 to 2000, and holds various New York State basketball records. In November of 2008, Burke and her father, Jim, were inducted into the Section V Basketball Hall of Fame. She is the second leading scorer in the history of Section V girl’s basketball with 2,458 points and the first girl in Section V to eclipse 2,000 career points.

Jamie Burke later completed her education with a Master of Science degree in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Ala in 2010.
