Angel Rodriguez

The Salem Community College Athletic Department and Director of Athletics Dr. Bob Bunnell is pleased to announce the hiring of Angel Rodriguez as the new head softball coach.

"Angel brings to our program a wealth of experience in the softball world of our region, both at the high school and club level. His experience working with and developing softball players will be a great asset as he builds our program. We are very happy to have him join the Mighty Oaks coaching staff".

Coach Rodriguez comes to Salem after a stint at Gloucester City High School from 2018 through 2020. Angel also served as a volunteer baseball coach in 2021 while at Gloucester City.

"I am honored for the opportunity to bring back the women's softball program at Salem Community College," said Rodriguez. "I look forward to working with all the student-athletes at SCC, to help each person develop the skills necessary on and off the field."

Prior to Gloucester City, Angel was the Head Softball Coach at Alice Costello School from 2017 through 2019. While there, he helped to develop the program through student leadership development as well as teaching game techniques.

Rodriguez has served as a Head Coach from 2017 to present of the ASA Gloucester Lady Brawlers travel softball program. He has worked to develop players ranging from the 14U level through the 18U level and Coach has managed all aspects of the game as well assisting with college placement.

"I truly believe that success isn't over night. It's when everyday you get a little better than before. It adds up," added Coach Rodriguez.

Angel is a graduate of Rowan University.
