Todd Buckingham joined Webber International University in the Summer of 2022 as its new Head Softball Coach.

Buckingham spent the previous two seasons as the Assistant Coach at NCAA Division-I Western Michigan University. At WMU, Buckingham served as the primary recruiter, hitting instructor, and outfielders coach.

Prior to his two-year stint at WMU, Buckingham accumulated 479 career wins as a Head College Softball Coach, spanning the previous 19 years. He served as Head Coach at Saginaw Valley State (NCAA Division-II) for eight seasons, winning a GLIAC Tournament Championship and advancing to the NCAA Regionals twice.

Buckingham began his coaching career at NCAA Division-II Bluefield State College, serving as Head Coach for five seasons. At BSC, he took a program that had not won a conference game in six seasons and turned it into a 30-win per year program.

Buckingham’s dedication to the sport spans beyond the softball field, as he has served as Conference Chair for Softball Coaches at both IUS and SVSU, served on the NCAA Rules Committee, and served the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on numerous committees as well as served two years on the NFCA Executive Board as Vice President.

Buckingham has received Conference Coach of the Year awards three different occasions, one NAIA Regional Coach of the Year award, and coached numerous All-Conference, All-Regional, and All-American student-athletes.

He has also coached numerous international trips with the USAAI organization, leading teams of student-athletes to play in games in Australia, Spain, Curaçao, and Aruba.

Coach Buckingham resides in Babson Park, Florida with his wife Ashly Buckingham, and his step-daughter Ally will continue her college education at Western Michigan University.

I have used the Soccer in College site for 8 years, and it has helped me keep my personal and soccer information up to date, and has helped be track college contacts and interest. I think the site helped me prepare for college offers, and helped me determine that I wanted to play for UNC.
