Travel Team Coaches, Players, College Coaches:
The production of The Atlanta Legacy Showcase is a monumental feat. From Umpiring, Field Maintenance, Hospitality & scheduling, we have over 200+ volunteers and paid staff that work 10 months around the year to host some of the best softball in the country. As such, I want to personally extend kudos to the following people/groups in helping our team to put on the 2017 Legacy.
Becky Massave (Event Director) and her team for the countless hours of preparation and game day execution of the entire event.
Rick Jeffreys (Director of Softball Operations) and his park directors for managing game day play at the parks.
Norm Veamoi (IT and scheduling Director) in performing miracles with over 320+ teams at nine separate parks while dodging inclement weather.
Todd Jennings (President) of the co-host The Atlanta Vipers for being a huge driving force with recruiting our College Coaches, volunteer assignment and game day support.
Our generous Georgia softball partner clubs: Georgia Fire, Georgia Force, Georgia Academy Power, Team Georgia, Pro-Star, Atlanta Premier, Georgia Select & East Cobb Edge for their limitless support.
A huge thanks to Jeff Crowder and his staff at Cobb County Parks, Jay Worley and his staff at Cherokee County Parks & the City of Kennesaw Parks & Rec. The untold hours of work the parks and maintenance staff put in over the past five days was incredible. To keep some of those parks running through the rain was unbelievable.
CHOA (Children's Healthcare of Atlanta) and Northside Cherokee for their generous contribution of on-site trainers to provide our event with elite level triage and player support.
Thanks to all of our many Vendors: Schutt Sports, Ringor, Elite Sporting Goods of Atlanta, Better Baseball of Atlanta, Fine Designs & The Gluv to name a few.
Jimmy Derrick, USA Softball Director of Umpires, and his umpiring crews. Jimmy brought in crews from five different states to cover our parks during the five day event. Many thanks to the men and women in blue for their contribution.
A huge thanks to the over 350+ College Coaches representing over 200+ institutions in attending our event.
Lastly, to the clubs and teams that made the 10th Anniversary of the Atlanta Legacy a memorable event...thank you...thank you...thank you!
While we cannot always ensure every team a memorable experience, please remember on thing..."this is an imperfect game played on an imperfect surface in imperfect weather!" To the coaches, players and families, I extend to you a huge thanks for your investment in our event and look forward to seeing you in 2018.
