Special NC USSSA Baseball Rules

  1. Protest Fee: $100 cash (on rule interpretation).
  2. Game Time: Starting time is forfeit time, unless delay is created by USSSA. Game time starts after completion of coin toss.
  3. Home team will be determined by coin flip during pool play, and the home team will be required to keep the official book. In bracket play home team will be higher seed until championship game.
  4. Championship games: No Time Limit. Run Rule is still in effect. Home team will be determined by coin flip
  5. Pitching Rules: Please refer to “USSSA Baseball Playing Rules” for specifics
    1. Scorecards must be signed by both team managers to eliminate inning validation problems. (Managers are responsible for meeting the umpires immediately following the game at the pitchers mound.)
    2. If pitching rules are violated and the infraction is detected, the situation will be reviewed. Consequences may include elimination of a team from the event and suspension for the following year, coaches and/or players ejection.
  6. All teams can use a designated hitter and extra hitter in all ages in North Carolina except during a Super NIT or a World Series! This means they can use either DH or EH or both!
  7. All games will have time limits set by the director.
  8. All NC USSSA Baseball tournaments will use a pool play format.  Tournament director will furnish baseballs. 
  9.  Adverse weather or rain: The USSSA Baseball Tournament will be played in adverse weather conditions. The format may be changed to lesser time limits or fewer innings only to complete tournament. Coaches and players accept these conditions when entering the tournament.
  10.  Tournament director shall have final decision on all tournament questions.

North Carolina Fall Season

Players on teams that quit playing until spring will be able to play on another team.  They will be allowed to go back to their original team in the spring.  This is being done so players that want to play baseball in the fall while the rest of their original team is doing soccer, football will not be penalized. 

 

NC USSSA BASEBALL TIE-BREAKER RULES

Games that are tied after regulation in Pool Play will end in a Tie. Bracket Play we will go straight into International tie Breaker.  

 

International Tie Breaker:

Last batter in the previous inning will be placed on second base.

 The following rules will determine the order of finish after pool play.

  1. WIN-LOSS RECORD
  2. HEAD TO HEAD
  3. FEWEST RUNS ALLOWED
  4. HIGHEST RUN DIFFERENTIAL– Determined by taking total runs scored minus total runs allowed. The maximum run differential per game is +8 or –8.
  5. USSSA Points
  6. Coin Flip

      A.R.1 - The score of the game at the time of a forfeit, if the losing team forfeits, shall be the score of record for purposes of this rule.

      A.R.2 - If the winning team forfeits, the score the score of record shall be 1 run per inning for that game in favor of losing team. If in a 6 inning game score will be 6-0. If in a 7 inning game score will be 7-0. 

A.R.3 - When three or more teams are tied fewest runs allowed in all pool play games will be used in determining all 3 places. If there is still a 3 way tie highest run differential shall be used to determine who shall advance.

A.R.4 – If when a 3 way tie is broken 2 teams are still tied with runs allowed go to highest run differential in all games, if still tied use USSSA Points, if this is a tie go to a coin flip.

9U,10U,11U,12U

1 hr 45 min time limit 6 innings

15 runs after 3 innings and 8 runs after 4 innings

13U - 18U

2 hr time limit on 7 innings

15 runs after 3 innings, 12 runs after 4 innings, and 8 runs after 5 innings
