To decide what age group your team needs to be you can go to USSSA click here for age calculator. The age you team must register is the age of your oldest player. To determine what classification your team is look at the 2010 Bylaws and Rules to give you an idea of what you need to be.

Get Your Roster Online

After you have registered your team with USSSA, you just gather kids within the age group you want to participate. Roster maximum limit is twenty (20) and there is not a minimum limit. However, you must just have enough to play according to the rules and may want to leave space available for adds.

You need to complete your roster ONLINE, click Get Your Roster Online on the left menu bar. (When your team qualifies, the State Headquarters will freeze your roster. At the time your roster is frozen you will have Add/Drop guidelines.

TEAM CLASSIFICATION HELP

The descriptions below are guidelines. The ultimate decision on classification is the overall strength and performance of the team on the field measured by a team's Power Rating. As per USSSA Rule 3.04, a team may be reclassified by USSSA at any time.

MAJOR: The top 10%-20% of the teams in the state!

AAA: The middle 40% - 60% of the teams in the state.

AA: The lower 20% of the teams in the state.

A: Local drafted league teams, most of these are Recreation teams.

ALL-STAR: Teams are formed from the local drafted leagues and will not be limited to one age group.

For the purpose of classifications, if four (4) or more players from a PREVIOUS season's roster are on a NEW roster, they are considered the same team regardless of the team name, manager, coaching staff or sponsor.
