Andrew Klaus

Andrew Klaus will enter his fifth season as head coach of the softball program at Franklin Pierce University in 2023 (hiring release).

(2021-22) Records continued to be broken under Klaus in his fourth season as head coach, with softball raking in a all-time high 30 wins (30-12 overall) on the season. Their dominant regular season performance saw softball enter the Northeast-10 Championship second round on a bye, and earned the squad a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. Additionally for their efforts, the team saw a trio of student athletes named NFCA All-Region, as well as four named to the NE10 All-Conference teams.

In 2021, Klaus coached the Ravens to a previous record 21 wins (21-9 overall), marking the best win-loss record since 1996, with a 18-6 record in conference play. The season was also highlighted by Franklin Pierce reaching the NE10 Championship Finals for the first time in program history. Klaus, the 2021 NE10 Coach of the Year, oversaw four NFCA All-Region members and 20 NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes. The year also saw three student-athletes collect NE10 Academic All-Conference and CoSIDA Academic All-District honors.

During the shortened 2020 season, due to COVID-19, Klaus led the team to a 10-1 record, with the only loss coming by Mansfield at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic.

In three seasons, Klaus has amassed a 42-40 overall record, including a 25-26 Northeast-10 conference record.

Rindge is the first collegiate head coaching stop for Klaus, who joined the Ravens with six years of NCAA coaching experience, including four at the Division II level. Most recently, Klaus was an assistant at the Division I level, as he spent the 2016 and 2017 campaigns at Norfolk State University, where he oversaw hitting and infield play. While in the Hampton Roads area, Klaus oversaw an improvement in the Spartans offensive output of over a run per game.

Prior to his time at Norfolk State, Klaus spent a total of four years as an assistant coach at three different Division II institutions, overseeing hitting and the outfield at all three. He spent the 2015 season at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, where the Flames led the league in batting average. In 2013 and 2014, he was a graduate assistant at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, and guided the Tigers to a pair of conference batting titles as well. Klaus began his collegiate coaching career in the 2012 season as a student assistant at his alma mater of Oklahoma Panhandle State University, in Goodwell, Oklahoma.

A 2011 graduate of Oklahoma Panhandle State University with a degree in education, Klaus was a four-year letterwinner in baseball for the Aggies, including a pair of All-Conference selections. He received his master’s in sports administration from East Central University in 2014.

The site was a great resource to sort colleges by my selection criteria, connect with coaches and be a repository for all of my communications. Overall, the best site that I used in my college soccer search.
