COACHING BIO
Weaver graduated from Messiah with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She then obtained her master’s degree in sports management from McDaniel College in the spring of 1998.
Over the course of her career, Weaver has earned many milestone victories with the Falcons. None were bigger than her 300th career victory than came with the Falcons winning the 2009 National Championship Game. Other milestone victories have included her 400th win on April 10, 2012 against Hood College (10-3), 500th win on Mar. 7, 2016 against Alfred State (10-4), 600th win on Apr. 18, 2018 against Lycoming (11-1), and 700th victory on Apr. 27, 2023 against Lebnaon Valley (2-1).
“We are just as concerned with bringing in great people as we are great athletes,” Weaver said. “I think that makes us unique. Our players have to buy into the team aspect here – they need to want to serve a bigger purpose. Our program doesn’t work if they don’t. We want to win, of course, but we feel winning is a byproduct of how we go about doing things. Playing softball here is much bigger than what happens on the field. When players leave, we want them to feel that Messiah softball changed their lives forever.”
While playing with the Falcons as a student-athlete, Weaver a was four-year starter in the outfield, leading the conference in doubles (20) as a senior while carrying a .469 batting average. She then served as an assistant coach for five years, taking a one-year hiatus in 1997 before accepting the head coaching position at the outset of the 1998 campaign.
Weaver is married to her husband of more than 20 years, Mike, and the couple has three children: Seth, Emily, and Drew. The family resides in nearby Dillsburg, Pa.
