      Safety Protocols COVID-19
      Positive cases of the Corona virus are starting to spike around the country. We have met with the leadership in Pearland to review one last time our safety protocols in preparation of your teams arrival. Over the past month or so we have seen that teams/fans at the ballparks have let their guard down a bit. Each coach will need to make sure they share these protocols with their families and adhere to the rules set forth here.   
       
      USFA Safety Protocols COVID-19 November 2020
       
      1. USFA Texas events will follow the established guidelines set forth by the CDC at all times
       
      2. Social Distancing practices will be in place at all times at our host facilities
      • Parents are asked to spread out along the foul lines
      3. USFA Staff along Facility Staff will wear masks when operating the event
       
      4. Masks are recommended for all spectators over 10 years old while inside the park gates
      • Note players, field coaches, & umpires will not be required to wear mask during game
      5. Players will be allowed to bring in their own water jug, as dugout water coolers will not be
      provided for safety reasons
       
      6. Coaches are required to certify prior to their first game that all of their players and assistant coaches have had their temperature checks (Umpires radio the confirmation to the UIC that the game is clear to start) Parents can check temps at home prior to traveling to the game
      • If temperature 100.4 or above, we ask you not enter the facility
      • Umpires are also required to check their temperature prior to arriving at the park
       
      7. There will be no pre or post-game handshakes, gatherings or meetings on the field. We ask coaches to limit the post-game team gathering to ensure social distancing continues post-game. The awards ceremony at the championship games will only work with social distancing
       
      8. Concession stand staff with have proper PPE at all times, and will communicate with the teams for their families to express social distancing practices.
       
      These protocols offer no guarantees to fully protect everyone as that will be a community effort. We are planning to have an added presence from the Pearland Police Dept at both facilities for added safety given the complex times we are living in. We will also have extra tournament directors on staff for this event, so if you need any help find one of them. Thank you in advance for assistance in adhering to these guidelines.
       
      Note- Gate Entry Wristbands will be sold at the Coaches Meeting and we do know of teams coming up to pre-purchase their entry bands to avoid the lines and minimize contact. (3) Coaches, players, and children under the age of 12 are free. Everyone else will need to pay the $10 weekend or $7 daily entry pass

      5GG Format:
      3 pool games seeding into a double elimination bracket. Games will start Saturday morning, no Friday Night Games

      • 8u Open Division - 70 Min Games
      • 8u C-Class Division – 60 Min Games
      • 8u Rec/League/2k13/7u - 60 Min Games 
      Umpires: Pay at the Plate $40 per game

      Awards:
      Champions & Runner-Ups will get U.S. Championship Commemorative Rings, Team Award, and the winning team from each division will get a paid entry to the 2021 USFA World Series in Panama City Beach, FL valued at $695 (Not transferable)
      3rd Place Finalist will get a team and individual player award
       
      Coaches Meeting:
      Friday Night 11/20/20 8pm
      Location: Hilton Garden Inn Pearland **New location
                      Shadow Creek Parkway

      • Team Check-In begins at the hotel at 7:30pm: Meeting starts promptly at 8pm
      • Teams will be able to check-in at coaches meeting, but it is not mandatory to attend
      • Head Coach/Team Manager +1 to attend the coaches meeting as space is limited
      • (3) Coaches gate entry weekend wristbands will be handed out at the meeting
      • Rules Discussion and Tournament Information will be reviewed in meeting
      • Rosters will need to be completed online prior to check-in starting, no paper rosters will be taken
      • If you are having issues with your roster email directly to us, and we will help you entre them
      • Team Mom's/Managers note we will be selling the park entry wristbands at the Coaches Meeting if you want to pre-purchase to save the time in lines at the parks
      • Tournament t-shirts and apparel will be sold at the coaches meeting as well
      • Note, we will send out via email a link to watch the meeting virtually if you are unable to attend 30 minutes before the event
      Coolers will be welcome at both complexes

      Pool Games will determine the bracket; note the bracket will not populate until the final pool game score is entered
       
      Pool Game Scoring Rules:
      Wins = 3 Points
      Ties = 1 Point
      Loss = 0 Points
       
      Tie Breakers:
      • Head to Head; if more than 2 teams tied it moves to next ties breaker
      • Lowest Runs Allowed
      • Run Differential (Max 12 run difference per game)
      • Coin Toss
      Gate Fee Information:
      Weekend Pass $10 Per Person
      Daily Entry Pass $7 Per Person
      Coaches (up to 3), Players, Children 12 & under free

      Note, we have specially trained 8u umpires coming to call games for this event. We understand that 8u is played a little different from market to market, so we will use the Coaches Meeting for our UIC to go over all of the rules.
