USFA is proud to announce the new team of Directors in Louisiana. Louisiana has been a key part of USFA over the past two decades, but in the last couple of seasons market share has suffered. Our renewed focus in this great state has us adding some quality experienced Directors to help us rebuild our platform for teams to be able to play USFA.
The USFA World Series in Panama City Beach is entering it's 22nd year as the flagship event for softball teams from 20+ states. Louisiana teams have very vocal about their interest in getting USFA back as an option to play for the upcoming season. We at the home office heard that message loud and clear, and are excited to announce our new Directors in Louisiana.
Ashely Fox- Central LA Director
Ashley has been involved in the game for 29 years. Played Dixie, Travel, High School, then at the collegiate level. Loving mother of 5, that brings a former player's view that will help strengthen the Central Louisiana Area markets. Fox is very outgoing, and with softball being part of her identity the future of fastpitch in Central LA is bright.
Danielle Lessard-South East LA Director
Danielle is a Fire Chief for a small town, and a loving mother of 4. She has been around the game for 20 years, and has been through the journey of being a softball parent from start to college. Lessard has a great vision for adding value back to the teams/players that play the game, and will do a great job in building the South East LA markets.
Wade Smith-South West Louisiana Director
Wade has been around the game for the past two decades with various roles as a travel ball coach along with helping drive softball organizations. Wade also bring a strong umpire back ground with a solid understanding of putting the best experience to the dirt. Wade's reach will also help in the Beaumont-SE-TX market which is also a key driver in the success of the SW-LA markets. He has worked with many teams over the years to help promote tournaments at various levels.
Rebuilding our experience back will be a team effort, and USFA is very excited at the differences in the backgrounds of these 3 new Directors. Creating a culture of team with the 3 Directors is key, and they will work with each other to ensure play is consistent throughout the state.
Over the next two weeks this group is going to build out their tournament schedules to ensure we start building a strong foundation of event. We look forward to seeing this group kick-start the journey of rebuilding the market!!!
