SHOWCASE RULES

POOL PLAY

  • Team listed at the top will occupy the 1st base dugout
  • Home Team will be determined by coin toss at home plate prior to the game
  • 2 balls will be furnished by tournament staff for each game.  First game each day will utilize two new balls.  One new and one used for games following.
  • Steel cleates will be allowed only on natural surfaces
  • No protest allowed.  There is a UIC at each park
  • 90 Minute game time, finish the batter
  • Any unaddressed items are governed by ASA rules
  • Team rosters will allow for as many players to bat as desired
  • Free defensive substitutions
  • Courtesty runners must be last batted out unless that batter was a pitcher or catcher
  • Run rules do not apply during pool play.  Regardless of the final score, we will only post a vicroty margin of 7 runs or less.
  • Weather
    • In the event of inclement weather, you will hear one single air horn which means all teams should clear the field and take cover immediealty.  The round goes into an automatic 20-minute delay.  If play cannot resume after 20 minutes, that round of games MAY be cancelled by the Director.  There will be no make-up games.
    • When the airhorn signals three consecutive times, all teams may re-take the fields.

 

BRACKET PLAY

  • ASA Rules govern bracket play.  Decisions on the field are final
  • No Protest Allowed.  Game and Umpire disputes will be handled by the UIC
  • No new innings will begin after one hour, 20 minutes from completion of the pre-game conference.  A new inning starts with the third out of the previous inning.
  • Home Team will be determined by coin toss at home plate prior to the game
  • Run Rules: 15 runs after 3 innings, 12 runs after 4 innings, 8 runs after 5 innings
  • Seeding was done by the selection committee utilizing a blind draw
  • 2 balls will be furnished by the tournament staff for each game.  First game weach day will utilize two new balls. One new and one used for games following.
  • Weather
    • In the event of inclement weather, you will hear on single air horn which means all teams should clear the field and take cover immediately.  The round goes into an automatic 20-minute delay until weather is cleared.
    • When the air horn signals three consecutive times, all teams may retake the fields.
    • The Director will determine when the games will re-start and reserve the right to change future games times to accommodate championship play
  • A game is defined by ASA cod as 4 complete innings
  • International Tie Breaker:  ASA rules govern play
