Linking fields together is important to help make sure you don't double book the fields for your event. Depending on the ages of your teams and the size of the fields you have, you may break "Field 1" into "Field 1A" and "Field 1B" when you need smaller fields.
In this case, you would want to link Field 1 to Field 1A and Field 1 to Field 1B. This will tell the system that you cannot schedule games on Field 1 and Field 1A at the same time. However, it will allow games to be scheduled on Field 1A and Field 1B at the same time.

The question above explains why you would link fields together and uses the example of Field 1, Field 1A, and Field 1B.
If Field 1 is a full field and Field 1A is one half of that field and Field 1B is the other half, you would want to link Field 1 to Field 1A and Field 1 to Field 1B.
This would tell the system that you cannot have games scheduled on Field 1A and Field 1 (or Field 1B and Field 1) at the same time.
To create this link, you would click on "Field 1" in your venue list. You will see a box open at the top left corner of your screen. Then click on "Field 1A". Finally, click the "Add Link" button.
Repeat this process to link Field 1 to Field 1B. Click "Field 1", Click "Field 1B", Click "Add Link."
If you were to click all 3 at the same time, it would link all of them together and the system would not allow games to be scheduled on Field 1A and Field 1B at the same time which is not what we are looking for in this example.
