Jamie Grodecki

Jamie Grodecki enters her 13th season as the Bobcats' head coach, maintaining a Southeast Region power with 5 NCAA postseason appearances, and one super-regional appearance, in her tenure as head coach here at GC. She is currently the winningest coach in GC history, and lead GC to two back-to-back 40+ wins in 2015 & 2016. In her time at the helm of the Bobcats, Grodecki became the third coach in Georgia College history to earn the honor of PBC Coach of the Year in 2013. In her career at Georgia College, Grodecki has coached two NFCA All-Americans, 19 NFCA All-Region,16 D2CCA All-Region, and 34 All-PBC honorees. Her student-athletes have also been honored academically with five Academic All-Americans, two valedictorians, and 4 PBC Elite 15 winners. She was named Assistant Athletic Director in the summer 2019 and Senior Woman Administrator in the spring of 2016.

The last two seasons post-COVID have fallen short of expectations at 11-25 in 2021 and 12-32 in 2022, but the young roster showed flashes in wins on the road against No. 11 Auburn-Montgomery and No. 19 Anderson. This season GC is hopeful to lean on returners and some fresh faces to get them back to their winning ways. The 2020 season was cut short by COVID-19, but not before Grodecki picked up her 300th DII career win with the Bobcats, a 4-3 victory over Shorter in the season opener. It was also her 402nd overall collegiate win in her career. Amber Coy earned Academic All-America honors for the Bobcats in 2020 and Rebecca Lawrence earned PBC Elite 15 recognition.

In 2019, the Bobcats went 34-18 with a 12-8 PBC mark. Sarah Couch was named All-PBC, while both Haley Howell and Caroline Snider brought in All-Region honors. Amber Coy was named Academic All-District, and also brought in the PBC's Elite-15 award. The Bobcats led the PBC in stolen bases with 106, finishing second in RBIs (260), runs (286), hits (406), and batting average (.293).

In 2018, the Bobcats were 36-16 with a 16-4 PBC mark, once again taking a spot in the NCAA Southeast Regional. The Bobcats put five on the All-PBC Team, and Hannah Coursey won the Elite-15 Award for best GPA for the second-straight year. Georgia College had a league-best eight on the PBC All-Academic Team, with both Holland and Hannah Coursey being named Academic All-Americans. The Bobcats were first in the PBC in batting average, stolen bases, and sacrifice flies, and third in the PBC in both hits and RBIs. Grodecki also won her 300th game as a collegiate coach on March 18 against Coker.

By the 2016 season, it was clear Coach Grodecki had put the Bobcats back on the championship path. She had taken a team that posted a 13-32 record one year prior to her arrival and turned them into a perennial top-25 squad. The past three seasons saw plenty of success, making it to the NCAA Regional Tournament for three straight years and ranking as high as #6 in the NFCA poll. The 2016 season provided back-to-back 40-win seasons for the first time in program history, as the 2016 senior class became the winningest in program history. The Bobcats advanced to the NCAA Regional and fell on championship day. The Bobcats had four All-Southeast Region players, with four making the All-PBC roster as well. Two Bobcats also earned Academic All-District

honors. Grodecki's Bobcats led the PBC in runs scored and finished fourth in ERA. The team also finished tops in on-base percentage, and second in the league in both batting average and slugging.

In 2015, the Bobcats set a school record in victories with 47. GC also recorded a 19-5 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) mark, at one point going on a 19-1 streak, including reaching as high as #6 in the NFCA National Poll, hosting and winning a branch of the NCAA Southeast Regional and appeared in the school’s first NCAA Super Regional round. The Bobcats put a school-record five players on the All-PBC teams, with pitchers Marisa Boyette and Carly Lewis, outfielder Danielle Bernstein and utility Abi LeRoy all earning All-Region honors as well.

Grodecki spent three seasons as head softball coach at St. Petersburg College prior to joining Bobcat nation. Over those three seasons, she placed second in the Suncoast Conference and earned bids to the FCCAA State Tournament three years in a row. She compiled a 102-51-1 (.666) record in her three years overseeing the program. While at SPC she had a number of athletes attain academic and athletic recognition, including a team GPA of 3.2 or higher each year and numerous All-Conference Academic team selections. On the field, in three years she had over 20 1st & 2nd team All-Conference Selections and two All-State Members.

Prior to her arrival at St. Petersburg, she coached for six years at Division I and II levels. At Southern Arkansas University she was the head coach for two seasons, leading her team to the conference tournament in both seasons with an overall 53-58 record. She also spent two years as an assistant coach at Delta State University working with the infield, hitting instruction, and the strength and conditioning program, helping guide Delta State to the 2005 Gulf South Conference (GSC) West Division championship and tournament finals. Before her time on the Delta State staff, Grodecki was an assistant at the University of Alabama-Birmingham from 2001-03, working with the outfield and in-state recruiting.

Grodecki was a two-sport athlete at Alabama-Huntsville, competing in softball from 1995-2000 and volleyball from 1995-99. She was a member of three GSC Champion softball teams (1996, 1999 and 2000) with four regional appearances and a College World Series appearance in 1999. She received her B.B.A. from the University of Alabama-Huntsville, and her M.Ed. in Physical Education from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

A native of Huntsville, Alabama, she is married to Andrew Grodecki. The Grodeckis have a daughter Allison and they live in Milledgeville.
