Rebecca Oldham

Mississippi University for Women Athletics elevated Rebecca Oldham to the Head Coach position for the Owls’ program in the summer of 2023. Oldham first joined the Owls' staff as the assistant coach in 2021-22.

Oldham also serves as MUW's Senior Woman Administrator and SAAC co-Coordinator.

In her first season at The W helm in 2024, Oldham ushered in the NCAA Division III era for The W softball, as well as the University's first season as a member of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC). Her squad went 21-18 overall and 7-9 in the SLIAC, good enough to earn a berth in the Conference's post-season tournament in Year One! In all, five players - Maiya Joe (2nd team); Jessica Deming (2nd team); Rylie Grisham (3rd team); Reagan Newell (3rd team); Riley Phillips (3rd team) - were All-SLIAC selections. 10 Owls were tabbed on the SLIAC's Academic All-Conference team.

With Oldham on staff, The W made two consecutive appearances in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Small College World Series. The Owls were the national runner-up this past spring (a 26-20 record) and placed third in Oldham’s first season on staff in 2022. Additionally, Oldham’s influence has been parlayed into many individual accolades for MUW players during her tenure, as well, including seven USCAA All-American awards, 17 USCAA All-Academic Team selections, back-to-back USCAA Student-Athletes of the Year (Amelia Stalter and Madison Crosby), and the USCAA’s back-to-back Home Run Derby champion (Grisham).

Oldham began her coaching career leading the Bond County Jaguars travel team's 18-under and 16-under squads, eventually moving on to assist for both junior high and high school basketball and softball teams at Mulberry Grove H.S. She eventually returned to coach as the Graduate Assistant for the softball program at Greenville University.

A native of Greenville, Ill., Oldham played four seasons – as a pitcher/utility player - at GU, earning All-St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) accolades every season (first team as a freshman and three second-team honors). The Panthers won a pair of SLIAC titles and made two NCAA III post-season appearances during her career. Her final season saw Oldham named to the NCAA III All-Midwest Region Team, as well.

Academically, Oldham was a two-time SLIAC All-Academic Team selection (as a sophomore and senior). Oldham graduated from Greenville with a bachelor's degree in history and political science (2018), as well as a Master of Arts in Education (2021).

For her collegiate accomplishments, Oldham was named to the SLIAC's "All-Decade Team" for 2010-19.

Prior to attending Greenville University, Oldham was an all-conference and all-state performer as a prep at Mulberry Grove High School. She played for several different travel teams and was a member of the BNGSA Angels team that won Northern Nationals in the summer of 2013.

During her time as a student and coach, Oldham volunteered in the Fellowship of Christian Athlete Softball Camps, MGHS Softball Camps, and Bond County Jaguar Summer Softball Camps.
