Christine Roser-LeFevers

On Monday, October 18, 2021, Rollins Director of Athletics Pennie Parker announced Christine Roser-LeFevers as the 10th head coach in the history of the Tars softball program.


Roser-LeFevers joins the Tars staff after two years as head coach at Mars Hill College in North Carolina. During her tenure wth the Lions, the team went 16-33 as they battled through challenges caused by the pandemic. Still, she was able to help two players named to the SAC All-Conference team.


Prior to her stint at Mars Hill, she was an assistant coach at Queens University in Charlotte. Christine helped the Royals to three straight South Atlantic Conference championship appearances, and one NCAA South Regional appearance. During her time, the Royals set a new mark for success with 35 wins in 2018, and entered the national poll for the first time. Roser-LeFevers coached 11 NFCA Academic All-Americans, 12 All-SAC honorees, three SAC All-Tournament team players, and two Academic All-District selections.


Roser-LeFevers was also the assistant coach at Seminole State College in Sanford, Florida for the 2014-15 season helping the team amass a 51-9 record which ranked second in the state of Florida and fourth in the nation in the last NJCAA regular-season poll of 2015. While in Orlando, Roser-LeFevers also served as an elite instructor at ProSwings, LLC, where she conducted lessons for pitching, hitting, catching, fielding, and speed and agility for age groups ranging from 6 to 21 years old.


Roser-LeFevers is no stranger to Rollins. She graduated in 2011 as the most decorated softball player in team history. She led the team to three consecutive Sunshine State Conference championships from 2009-2011, and played in the NCAA postseason all four years at Rollins. She also collected numerous individual accolades. At the conference level, she was named the 2008 Freshman of the Year and earned four first-team All-SSC selections. On a national scale, she was named the Diamond Catcher of the Year in both 2009 and 2011, a two-time NFCA All-American (2009, 2011), NFCA and Daktronics All-South Region, and the Daktronics South Region Player of the Year in 2011, Upon her graduation in 2011, she was the Tars' all-time leader in hits, doubles, home runs, RBI, and runs.


Roser-LeFevers graduated from Rollins in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She is currently studying at the University of West Alabama, where she was a graduate assistant from 2012-13, obtaining a master's degree in continuing education-college student development.

Alissa Smith

Alissa Smith joined the Tars' coaching staff in the fall of 2022. Her responsibilities inlcude recruiting, practice planning, and assisting with offensive and defensive drills.


Prior to her time with the Tars, she built a resume that spans more than two decades across all levels of collegiate softball:


1999-2005: Bethune Cookman assistant coach

2005-2009: University of Maryland assistant coach

2011-2018: Daytona State College assistant coach

2018-2021: St Johns River State College assistant coach


Smith's coaching accomplishments include:


- At Bethune Cookman, Smith helped lead the Wildcats to five straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championships from 1999-2004 with corresponding NCAA regional appearances.

- In 2005, the team also won the NCAA Regional at Gainesville, Fla., and advanced to the NCAA Super Regional. BCU won 49 games and finished No. 18 in the final Top 25 poll of the season.

- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) awarded South Region Coaching Staff of the Year in 2005.


Smith's collegiate career began at Daytona Beach Community College, where she played her freshman and sophomore seasons, earning her team's Gold Glove Award her second year. Smith then transferred to Florida A&M University, where she received her degree in psychology. While at Florida A&M University she played second base and shortstop and helped the Rattlers claim a MEAC title her senior season. Smith earned her team's defensive player of the year award that year. Smith worked as a pharmacy technician in Orlando for two years before joining Bethune-Cookman's coaching staff as an assistant. Smith also received a degree in Management from the University of Phoenix. Alissa resides in New Smyrna Beach, FL with her dog Jaxon.
